DAISY & Sunshine Awards

A group of twelve hospital staff members pose together in a hallway. They are smiling, with one person holding balloons and another holding a bouquet. Some are in scrubs, and one person is wearing a mask.

Recognizing extraordinary care at Shepherd Center

At Shepherd Center, we are committed to compassionate, patient-centered care. Through the DAISY Award for nurses and the Sunshine Award for primary care technicians and medical assistants, we recognize team members who go above and beyond in providing exceptional care.

If you’ve experienced exceptional care, we invite you to nominate a deserving nurse, patient care technician, or medical assistant. Your nomination is a powerful way to say “thank you” and show appreciation for the compassionate care that helps make Shepherd Center a place of healing, hope, and inspiration.

The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses® is an international recognition program that celebrates the incredible work nurses do, not only through their skills but through their unwavering empathy. This award was created in memory of J. Patrick Barnes, whose family wanted to publicly thank the nurses who showed him and his family remarkable compassion during his battle with an auto-immune disease. The DAISY Award allows us to continue their legacy of gratitude and to celebrate nurses who make a lasting impact.
