About Russell Gore, M.D.
Dr. Gore is the medical director of vestibular neurology at Shepherd Center, where he cares for patients with dizziness and balance challenges resulting from spinal cord or brain injuries. In addition to inpatient consultations, he sees patients on an outpatient basis in the Rehabilitation Medicine Clinic while serving as the medical director of the SHARE Military Initiative and the director of the Complex Concussion Clinic.
His educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering from Vanderbilt University, followed by a medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine. After completing an internship at Emory, Dr. Gore spent eight years as a flight surgeon in the United States Air Force.
In addition to his roles at Shepherd Center, Dr. Gore is an adjunct associate professor at the Wallace H. Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering at Georgia Tech and Emory University. He is a widely published researcher, neurotrauma consultant, and advisor for national athletics organizations, college and professional sports teams, the Veterans Administration, and the Department of Defense.
