About Kirsten Allen, PsyD, ABPP
Kirsten Allen, PsyD, ABPP, joined Shepherd Center in 2019 as a sport and rehabilitation psychologist at the Complex Concussion Clinic. Dr. Allen's approach is marked by her unwavering compassion, which she channels to support patients in their journey from survival to thriving. She values the opportunity to provide adaptation, adjustment, and acceptance, empowering patients to navigate life's challenges with resilience and grace. At Shepherd Center, Dr. Allen finds fulfillment in working within a collaborative, interdisciplinary team.
She earned her undergraduate degree at Davidson College and her master's degree in Sport and Performance Psychology along with her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Denver Graduate School of Professional Psychology. She completed her internship at the James A. Haley (Tampa, FL) VA with a concentration in Rehabilitation, Health, and Neuropsychology, and her postdoctoral fellowship in Rehabilitation Psychology here in Atlanta, GA at Emory University School of Medicine.
