Jill Koval, Ph.D., ABPP, joined the psychology staff at Shepherd Center in 1989, after completing her internship at the VA Medical Center in Decatur, GA. Dr. Koval received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from George Washington University. She is Board Certified in Rehabilitation Psychology. She has had a long-standing position in leadership in the Psychology Department and is currently a supervisor for the mental health providers in the inpatient SCI Program as well as SCI Day Program. Additionally, Dr. Koval is a supervisor for mental health providers in the Outpatient Department. She has extensive experience in the area of emotional adjustment and other key rehabilitation issues for newly injured patients with SCI/dual diagnosis and their families. She currently treats patients in the Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation Program. In addition to direct patient care, Dr. Koval enjoys providing mentorship and professional training for others in her Department. Dr. Koval is also a member of the Shepherd Center Ethics Committee.
