Tim Riggins, Ed.D., LCSW, is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and rehabilitation counselor who works with patients and families adjusting to brain injury at Shepherd Pathways. He earned a master’s degree in social work from North Carolina State University and a bachelor's degree in psychology from North Carolina State University. He has worked in the areas of homelessness, mental health, suicide prevention, LGBTQ, hospice, bereavement, and acquired brain injuries. He has extensive experience with adolescents, adults, and children. Tim has developed strong therapeutic skills with issues surrounding anxiety, depression, bereavement, sexuality, LGBT issues, couples/family counseling, and brain injury. Tim uses a therapeutic treatment approach rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Family Systems approaches. Tim focuses on a holistic, client-centered approach that supports a balance between the body, mind, and spirit.
