About Candace Hermsmeier, RCP, RRT
Motivated by a profound desire to make a positive impact in the lives of others, Candace found her calling in respiratory therapy. Her passion lies in serving as a steadfast source of support for patients, whether administering vital breathing treatments or offering comforting companionship.
In her role as a weekday respiratory supervisor, Candace is committed to connecting with each patient and family member while providing the best care possible. Collaborating closely with the pulmonologist, she navigates the complexities of critical patient care, offering expertise during procedures like code rapids, code blues, intubations, and bronchoscopies.
Beyond the intensive care unit, Candace extends her expertise to outpatient services, overseeing pulmonary testing and facilitating trach changes. Ever-ready to lend support, she provides invaluable assistance to her team members and nursing staff as required.
At Shepherd Center, Candace finds joy in the enduring friendships cultivated with patients and their families. The warm and welcoming atmosphere fosters an environment where individuals transition from being patients to cherished members of an extended family.
Outside of work, Candace loves spending time with her husband and three amazing kids while preparing for the arrival of their fourth child. She enjoys exploring the outdoors, home renovations, fishing on the lake, and trips to the mountains, beach, and international destinations.
