Meet Alexandra Manolache, a 20-year-old from Greenville, Tennessee, whose journey from tragedy to triumph is inspiring. After a motor vehicle accident on May 20, 2023, Alexandra turned her recovery into a mission to help others.
Alexandra’s passions are diverse, from cooking and anime to music and spending time with friends. She dreams of becoming a neurologist or specialist, dedicated to making a difference and aiding those with brain injuries.
She envisions a world where Shepherd Center continues its incredible work, communities are more accessible for people with disabilities, and travel is affordable for all. A favorite memory is returning nine months after her injury, walking and talking, to surprise the therapists and nurses who once cared for her in a vegetative state.
Fun facts? She loves mac and cheese, accidentally flushed her glasses down the toilet, and amusingly began speaking Romanian first when emerging from her vegetative state.
