Meet Anna Katherine Spangler, a 19-year-old from Huntsville, Alabama, who’s transforming challenges into opportunities at Project Rollway. Originally from Kharkiv, Ukraine, and with a sister from St. Petersburg, Russia, Anna Katherine’s background is as international as her ambitions. Before a spinal cord injury on June 27, 2023, Anna Katherine competed as an elite trampolinist.
Anna Katherine’s hobbies include drawing, playing the xylophone, attending classical concerts, bird watching, fishing, and enjoying movies and games with family. She aims to pursue an engineering degree and dreams of advancements in spinal cord injury treatments and a Shepherd clinic in Huntsville.
Her favorite memory at Shepherd Center is a day at Top Golf with therapists, golfing, dining, and playing with Colin the facility dog. Despite her ability to sleep almost anywhere, Anna Katherine is always awake to future possibilities.
