About
Jonni Mahr, LPC, CTP, is a licensed professional counselor and certified trauma therapist who supports patients in the Spinal Cord Injury Outpatient and Day Program at Shepherd Center. She brings a strong background in trauma-focused care, having previously provided psychotherapy across various levels of treatment for individuals recovering from trauma, as well as alcohol, substance, and process addictions.
Jonni earned her MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Mercer University, and holds both a BA and BFA from the University of Georgia. She is passionate about helping individuals and families navigate and make sense of their trauma, with the goal of fostering acceptance and re-engagement with life in a meaningful way.
Her counseling approach is holistic, focusing on restoring a sense of safety and connection between the body, mind, and spirit. Outside of her clinical work, Jonni enjoys exploring creative arts, spending time with loved ones, and discovering (and occasionally getting lost in) new corners of the city.
