About
Originally from Jacksonville, Florida, Dr. Dominique Ghirardi is passionate about supporting patients as they navigate functional changes, always with deep respect for each individual’s unique lived experience and values. Her approach to care is rooted in empathy, collaboration, and a commitment to honoring what matters most to each patient.
Dr. Ghirardi was drawn to the Shepherd Center for its renowned focus on neurorehabilitation and the opportunity to integrate neuropsychological assessment with psychotherapy. The Center’s mission aligns closely with her own values and clinical interests, making it an ideal environment to grow and contribute meaningfully.
Outside of Shepherd Center, Dr. Ghirardi advocates for improving access to mental health care. She has served as a crisis counselor with the Crisis Text Line from 2016 to 2020 and currently volunteers with the Association of Neuropsychology Students in Training, supporting students in exploring pathways into graduate psychology programs.
In her personal time, she enjoys making art, writing fiction, singing karaoke, and fishing. A goal while in Georgia is to catch both a striped bass and a rainbow trout — hopefully with a good story to tell afterward!
