Study details

In this study, participants will asked to perform various tasks that involve closed captioning settings on the Samsung TV. The overall purpose of the study is to gather data that can be used to evaluate how well Samsung TVs meet the FCC’s new guidelines which are focused on the accessibility of closed captioning settings. Data gathered from this study will be used to improve the usability and accessibility of Samsung’s products and services.

Eligibility

To be eligible you must:

  • Be deaf or hard of hearing, OR
    • Neurodivergent
  • Use TV closed captioning settings consistently
  • Prefer using English primarily for reading, writing, speaking
  • Live in or near Atlanta and be willing to travel to Shepherd Center
  • Be 18 years old or older
  • Be a member of the Accessibility User Research Collective (AURC)
