About the postdoctoral fellowship in rehabilitation psychology
The Rehabilitation Psychology Fellowship at Shepherd Center offers an exceptional opportunity to train at one of the nation’s leading neurorehabilitation hospitals. Fellows gain hands-on experience by collaborating with an interdisciplinary team and providing direct care to a diverse patient population. Shepherd Center is internationally accredited by the Joint Commission and CARF, and designated as a NIDILRR-Model System for Spinal Cord Injury and Traumatic Brain Injury.
This two-year fellowship adheres to the Baltimore Conference on Specialty Education and Training in Rehabilitation Psychology, ensuring a comprehensive and enriching experience. Fellows receive training in assessment, intervention, and consultation, with an emphasis on patient- and family-centered care. They are equipped to advocate for the field of rehabilitation psychology in interdisciplinary settings at local, regional, and national levels. Upon completion, fellows are well-prepared to pursue licensure and board certification by the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP) in Rehabilitation Psychology.
