Clinical fellowship in speech-language pathology application information
Shepherd Center’s Speech-Language Pathology Fellowship Program welcomes candidates from all backgrounds and lifestyles to submit their applications. We offer one 13-month fellowship position, available to individuals who:
- Possess a Master’s degree in speech-language pathology.
- Have received a passing score on the Praxis Examination by August 1 to be considered for the program.
- Are eligible for a paid clinical experience (PCE) by September 1. PCE request must be submitted no earlier than June 17 and no later than July 1, 2026 (in order to be reviewed during July board meeting).
Speech-language pathology fellowship application submission instructions
Individuals wishing to apply for admission to the fellowship must submit the following documents in a single compressed PDF file.
- A completed application.
- A one-page (12-point font) cover letter describing your interest in the position, previous experience in medical speech pathology, goals for your career, and the qualities that make you a viable candidate for this clinical fellowship.
- Updated CV/resume.
Applications for the 2026-2027 clinical fellowship will open January 29, 2026. Deadline to apply is February 16, 2026.
Interview process
Following the initial resume and application screen, the top 10 applicants will be asked to participate in our second round of virtual interviews. The final round will consist of an on-site, in-person interview day for the top four candidates at Shepherd Center.
- Virtual interview: March 6, 2026
- Mandatory in-person interview: May 11, 2026
The start date for the clinical fellowship is August 17, 2026 and runs through September 30, 2027.
Fellowship benefits
Fellows are offered an entry-level continuing education stipend of $500 for approved continuing education or certification costs.
