Study overview

Researchers from Shepherd Center & Emory University are looking for volunteers to participate in a study to evaluate changes in the brain among people suffering from dizziness and imbalance after a concussion. This study is enrolling individuals who meet the following criteria:

  1. Had a concussion within the last 6 months and recovered within 30 days
  2. Had a concussion within the last 6 months, did not recover within 30 days, and are currently receiving therapy at the Shepherd Center Concussion Clinic
  3. Have not had a concussion

Participants will be required to complete an evaluation at Shepherd Center (2 hrs) and a brain MRI (no contrast injection) at the Georgia Tech Center for Advanced Brain Imaging (1.5 hrs). Compensation ($150) will be provided for their time.

Study eligibility

To be eligible, participants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be 15-40 years old
  • Be right-handed
  • Have no history of epilepsy, previous brain surgery, or injuries preventing standing and/or walking
  • Be able to undergo an MRI scan
