About
Dr. Hayley Shade is a Sports Neurotrauma–trained physician specializing in the diagnosis, management, and long-term care of concussions and other traumatic brain injuries. Her approach to care is rooted in evidence-based medicine, interdisciplinary collaboration, and patient-centered decision-making. She places a strong emphasis on early recognition, individualized treatment plans, and safe return-to-play strategies that balance athletic goals with neurological health.
Originally from DeSoto, Texas, Dr. Shade was drawn to Shepherd Center for its national reputation in neurorehabilitation and its commitment to helping patients reclaim independence and quality of life. She values Shepherd’s collaborative, multidisciplinary environment, which not only supports provider growth but also ensures the best outcomes for patients.
Outside of work, Dr. Shade enjoys exploring all things creative, from painting and sewing to pottery and other DIY projects, and is an avid reader of medical history and science fiction.
