Her approach to care is comprehensive and patient-centered, with a focus on understanding each person’s goals, values, and vision for life beyond rehabilitation.
Dr. Pupke believes that every brain injury and recovery journey is unique. She values collaborating closely with patients, families, and an interdisciplinary care team to address the physical, cognitive, emotional, and functional challenges that can accompany brain injury. Her goal is to maximize recovery, promote independence, and help patients return to the activities and relationships that matter most to them.
Dr. Pupke joined Shepherd Center in 2026 after completing a Brain Injury Medicine Fellowship at Harvard University/Spaulding Rehabilitation and a residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Emory University. Having trained at Shepherd as a resident, she developed a deep appreciation for the organization’s commitment to exceptional rehabilitation care, family support, and helping patients rebuild their lives after injury.
Originally from St. Petersburg, Florida, Dr. Pupke enjoys volunteering with community organizations that serve individuals with disabilities and underserved populations. She is also an avid college football fan, enjoys spending time outdoors, exploring local coffee shops and markets, and hiking with family and friends.
