A bunk bed safety rail could save lives
As college enrollments grow, space becomes limited, and taller bunk beds are often used to maximize room for storage. While practical, this setup can be hazardous without proper safety measures. Unfortunately, many colleges and universities overlook the importance of bunk bed safety rails, putting students at risk of serious injury.
Clark Jacobs, a former Mechanical Engineering major at Georgia Tech, learned this the hard way. A fall from his seven-foot-high loft bed resulted in a traumatic brain injury that nearly claimed his life. Clark’s experience is a powerful reminder of the hidden dangers elevated beds can pose without the protection of safety rails.
