About

Dr. Abid Haque is an adult and pediatric pain physician dedicated to helping patients with complex pain conditions improve their function, independence, and quality of life. His patient-centered approach combines evidence-based interventional pain management with thoughtful listening, clear communication, and shared decision-making to create individualized treatment plans that align with each patient’s goals.

Dr. Haque joined Shepherd Center in 2026, drawn by the opportunity to serve Shepherd’s unique patient population and help ensure equitable access to high-quality pain management care. He is committed to working collaboratively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary care teams to optimize outcomes and support long-term wellness.

He completed a Pain Medicine Fellowship at Harvard Medical School through Boston Children’s Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Prior to fellowship, he completed his residency in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital. Dr. Haque also completed a research fellowship at the National Institutes of Health and earned his medical degree from Howard University College of Medicine. He received his undergraduate degree in Spanish and Economics from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Dr. Haque is board certified in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (ABPMR). A native of Atlanta, Georgia, he is proud to serve patients in his hometown community.
