Our housing options

We offer a variety of comfortable and convenient family housing options in a warm and welcoming environment to ensure that your loved ones can stay nearby and support you throughout your treatment.

Arthur M. Blank Family Residences

Just a few blocks from Shepherd Center, our new state-of-the-art tower is dedicated to inpatient family housing. It features 165 modern, wheelchair-accessible, fully furnished apartments with in-unit laundry. Families also have access to an on-site parking deck, meeting rooms, a gym, and recreational spaces.

Irene and George Woodruff Family Residence Center

Located on our main campus, this facility is dedicated to Day Program housing. It features 84 wheelchair-accessible, fully furnished suites, plus an on-site parking deck, laundry facilities, and access to Shepherd Center’s ProMotion Gym.

SHARE Military Initiative’s Biscayne Apartments

Specifically for veterans, service members, and first responders participating in our SHARE program, these apartments provide a supportive environment for those with mild to moderate traumatic brain injuries.

Shepherd Pathways Spring Creek Residential Housing

We offer time-limited housing for patients and families participating in our Shepherd Pathways program in Decatur, Georgia. This 6-bed facility supports our brain injury residential program offering a home-like atmosphere designed to help patients transition smoothly from inpatient care to living in more independent housing.

Located just a few blocks from the main campus, these apartments offer additional options for families needing extended stays, and a secondary option for clients in our SHARE and Pathways programs.

Who is eligible for family housing

  • Inpatient families: Patients who are newly admitted to our inpatient rehabilitation program are provided one furnished apartment if both the family and patient live more than 50 miles from Shepherd Center.
  • Day Program participants: Patients participating in our Day Programs who live more than 30 miles from Shepherd Center may be eligible for a furnished apartment during treatment. A trained caregiver (18 or older) must stay with the patient at all times.
  • SHARE Program participants: Veterans participating in our SHARE Military Initiative may be eligible for housing in our Biscayne Apartments.

Additional housing options

In addition to the main residences, we also offer housing through a list of nearby hotels and apartments at special rates for families who wish to stay in Atlanta for extended periods. Our housing coordinator is available to assist with arrangements, ensuring a seamless experience for our families.
