Jamie Shepherd is President & Chief Executive Officer of Shepherd Center. The Hospital, founded in 1975, employs over 1,800 people, produces annual revenues over $300M and is one of the nation’s leading hospitals specializing in rehabilitation for people with spinal cord injury, brain injury, multiple sclerosis, and other neuromuscular conditions. As a third-generation leader of the family-founded organization, Jamie carries forward the legacy of his father and grandparents, who played pivotal roles in building Shepherd Center into a world-class institution rooted in compassion, clinical excellence, and a commitment to patient dignity. Jamie is charged with leading the Organization to greater heights as it embarks on its’ next fifty years

Jamie joined Shepherd Center in 2015 and was appointed as CEO in 2024 following leadership roles as President &Chief Operating Officer (2019-2024) and Director of Risk Management and Community Services (2017-2019). Jamie has led initiatives to strengthen financial operations, optimize clinical efficiency, and enhance the hospital’s impact on patients and families. His previous experience as Executive Vice President at Rogers Bridge Company, a family-owned infrastructure firm, helped shape his leadership philosophy grounded in service, long-term thinking, and community trust.

Most recently, Jamie spearheaded $370 million in construction with the opening of The Arthur M. Blank Family Residences building and the opening of The Marcus Center for Advanced Rehabilitation building and continued oversight of 100,000 square feet of renovations on campus.

Jamie earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Georgia and earned dual master’s degrees in finance and healthcare administration from Georgia State University. Jamie is a board-certified Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives. In 2019, he was honored as one of Atlanta Business Chronicle’s “40 Under Forty” for his leadership in healthcare and civic engagement.

In addition to his executive role, Jamie serves on the boards of several family and educational organizations, including the Plant Improvement Company, Shepherd Construction Company, Georgia State University Alumni Board, and Atlanta Classical Academy. He is a member of Atlanta Rotary Club, The Buckhead Coalition and YPO Southern 7 Chapter. He and his wife are active members of Peachtree Presbyterian Church, where they teach Sunday school together. Jamie also volunteers directly with Shepherd Center patients, serving breakfast and providing hands-on encouragement.
