About
Dr. Matthew Sand is a consulting urologist in Shepherd Center’s Urology Clinic. He earned his medical degree from the University of North Carolina’s School of Medicine where he graduated with honors. He completed his surgical internship and residency in urology at New York University Medical Center. He received his undergraduate degree in microbiology from the University of Georgia, graduating with First Honor status.
Before joining Piedmont Physicians Urology Specialists in Atlanta, Dr. Sand was the chief resident in urology at New York University Medical Center, where he trained with national experts in prostate cancer, robotic surgery, urologic stone disease and female urologic disorders. Dr. Sand’s interests include treating patients with low testosterone, erectile dysfunction, stone disease and voiding dysfunction, including male and female urinary incontinence.
Dr. Sand strives to treat the patient and works with them to develop treatment plans that maximize efficacy and patient satisfaction. In his spare time, Dr. Sand enjoys spending time with his family, traveling and is also an avid college football fan.
