Interventional pain management and treatments for chronic back and spine pain

Back and spinal pain can be any pain or discomfort in the upper, middle, or lower back and can be caused by injury, nerve damage, muscle or ligament damage, or problems with nerves or blood vessels. When pain in the spine becomes chronic, the exact source of the pain can be difficult to identify and complex to treat.

Since its inception, the Dean Stroud Spine and Pain Institute has used a multidisciplinary approach to help patients find the root cause of their pain while providing specialized and innovative treatment plans to restore and improve their quality of life.

This comprehensive and holistic approach to chronic pain management includes a variety of treatment options such as interventional pain management treatments, physical therapy, pain psychology, and referrals to other specialists and clinics at Shepherd Center.

Four people stand outdoors on a stone path. Two adults and a young girl are in front, with a young woman standing slightly behind. They're dressed in jackets and sweaters, and trees with a pond in the background create a natural setting.

My pain specialist was so kind. He told me, ‘We’re going to work until we narrow down the root of all this.’ I really felt like he took a personal interest in what was going on with me. Even between visits, he would check in on me.
