This course is designed to broaden the knowledge base of health care professionals that work with individuals who have sustained a brain injury. The course will provide an understanding of disorders of consciousness and severe brain injury with an explanation of prognostic indicators. This will be followed by a discussion on management and prevention of medical complications, pharmacology management, therapeutic techniques for enhancing functional recovery and family intervention strategies through lectures, videos and a case study.
