This course will cover the roles that nurses and chaplains have in the identification, assessment and support of patients’ spiritual needs while in the inpatient environment. This course will outline the historical context of nursing as it relates to spiritual care within the transcultural model. The interdisciplinary relationship of nursing and chaplaincy is explored to address the person’s spiritual needs and influence well-being.
