President and Chief Executive Officer

Jamie Shepherd serves as the president and chief executive officer (CEO) of Shepherd Center, carrying forward the legacy of his family and Shepherd co-founders — his late father, James H. Shepherd, Jr., his late grandfather, Harold Shepherd, and his grandmother, Alana Shepherd. His leadership is deeply rooted in the center's mission to help individuals with temporary or permanent disabilities caused by injury or disease rebuild their lives with hope, independence, and dignity.

In addition to his role as CEO, Jamie is a founding member of the Shepherd Center Society and an active board member. He represents the hospital at various fundraisers and within the broader community, advocating for Shepherd Center's vision and goals.

Jamie’s career at Shepherd Center includes previous roles as president and chief operating officer, as well as strategic project analyst. In these positions, he played a crucial role in strengthening financial operations, overseeing risk management, and ensuring the hospital's clinical processes were optimized for maximum efficiency. Before joining Shepherd Center, Jamie gained leadership experience as the executive vice president at Rogers Bridge Company.

Academically, Jamie holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Georgia and earned master’s degrees in business administration and health administration from Georgia State University. In 2019, he was recognized by the Atlanta Business Chronicle as one of their 40 Under Forty. He has also completed the Georgia Highway Contractors Association Executive Development Program and the "Leadership GHA" program through the Georgia Hospital Association.

Jamie continues to serve his community through his involvement as a board member for Plant Improvement Company, Shepherd Construction Company, and Atlanta Classical Academy. He is also an active member of Peachtree Presbyterian Church, where he teaches Sunday school alongside his wife. Additionally, Jamie volunteers as a breakfast feeder for patients at Shepherd Center.

Outside of work, Jamie enjoys hunting, fishing, attending University of Georgia football games, and spending time with his wife and their four children. He is also actively involved in coaching his children's sports teams.
