John McDaniel, MBA, serves as Director of Finance at Shepherd Center. In this role, John directs the Accounting and Supply Chain departments, which includes oversight of all accounting functions, financial reporting, audit, budgeting, accounts payable, tax return preparation, contracting, purchasing, and distribution of goods and services throughout the hospital.
John was first introduced to Shepherd Center when his father suffered a spinal cord injury in 1983. Four years later, in 1987, John began his career at Shepherd Center as a part-time Pharmacy Technician.
After earning a Bachelor of Business Administration from Georgia State University, John moved into the role of Supply Chain Manager. While working in this role, John returned to Georgia State University, earning his Master of Business Administration in early 2005. John then began working closely with finance in hybrid positions as Supply Chain Manager/Senior Accountant, then Supply Chain Manager/Assistant Controller, and in 2016, was promoted to Director of Finance.
John credits Shepherd Center with giving his family 26 years with his father they would not have had otherwise. This family perspective drives John’s passion for Shepherd and the amazing work done here.
