Nick currently holds dual positions at Shepherd Center in the Beyond Therapy® program and in the Spinal Cord Injury Laboratory as a clinical exercise physiologist and research assistant in which he provides research support for an NIDLRR-funded study investigating the effects of moderate-intensity exercise and transcranial direct current stimulation on lower extremity motor function and walking among persons with spinal cord injury. In addition, Nick has had the opportunity to develop personal research interests, which have included investigating the cardiorespiratory and metabolic responses to exoskeleton-assisted walking among persons with SCI. In an effort to acquire advanced skills and formal training as a research scientist, Nick began work toward a Ph.D. in applied physiology at the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2015.
