About

Dr. Owens earned her doctorate and Master of Public Health from Mercer University. She completed internships in pediatric neuropsychology at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in partnership with The Ohio State University and in rehabilitation neuropsychology at Emory University School of Medicine. She is a proud alumna of Spelman College.

Dr. Owens is passionate about instilling hope and resilience in the lives of patients and values the opportunity to journey alongside them as they navigate recovery. She strives to provide culturally responsive care, recognizing how cultural factors and social determinants of health can inform and enhance each patient’s care experience and recovery trajectory.

Outside of Shepherd, Dr. Owens advocates for mental health education and awareness within historically underserved and minority communities. For fun, she enjoys spending time with friends and family. When she isn’t working or binge-watching TV, she can be found at F45 or Solidcore, reading, or playing with her puppy, Gracie. She also enjoys trying new restaurants, relaxing at the beach, and watching football (go Baltimore Ravens!).
