Expert patient advocates to help support, guide, and coordinate your care with confidence

Complex conditions like multiple sclerosis require a complex treatment plan, often encompassing multiple care specialists. To help navigate these healthcare systems, the Andrew C. Carlos Multiple Sclerosis Institute is staffed with experienced medical professionals, known as case managers and case manager associates, who serve as critical members of your expert care team.

Services our case managers provide

Our dedicated case managers play a vital role in ensuring a seamless and supportive care experience for our patients and their families. They act as a bridge between the patient, family, and our multiple sclerosis (MS) care team, addressing a range of needs to promote continuity of care and overall well-being.

Case managers are responsible for coordinating all aspects of a patient’s care and are often your first point of contact with the MS Institute. Services can include assisting scheduling appointments, reducing barriers to care, and communicating directly with the patient, family, and specialists.

Case managers can help with answering questions about insurance or guide you to the appropriate resource to assist you. They are also liaisons between you and your insurance provider and will advocate for appropriate care services required for your treatment plan.

In addition to the care you receive at the MS Institute, case managers can help with community integration recourses from vocational training to filing disability claims and helping with paperwork for the social security disability.

Caregivers and family members often play a crucial role in supporting the health and well-being of loved ones with complex injuries and illnesses. Your case manager can provide access to resources to assist in the caregiving journey, such as financial and community-based resources.
