Welcome to Shepherd Center’s intensive care unit

We provide exceptional care for the most complex cases. Our intensive care unit (ICU) is designed to help you begin your rehabilitation journey as early as possible, ensuring that you receive the comprehensive and specialized care you need right from the start.

Why our ICU is essential to recovery

Shepherd Center is the only free-standing neurorehabilitation center with an ICU, and it plays a vital role in ensuring our patients receive the best possible care. Our 10-bed neuro-intensive care unit is specifically designed for patients who are not yet medically stable and require intensive nursing care. This means you can begin your rehabilitation journey sooner, even while still in the ICU, without the stress of unnecessary transfers.

  • Early admission and rehabilitation: Our ICU allows you to be admitted earlier into Shepherd Center, facilitating a quicker start to your rehabilitation process.
  • Comprehensive on-campus care: Having an ICU onsite prevents the need for transferring patients to another facility if they require intensive care while in our care.
